Tutankhamen, or King Tut, was a young Egyptian pharaoh of the 18th dynasty, ruling from around 1332 to 1323 BCE. He is best known for restoring traditional Egyptian polytheism after his father, Akhenaten, promoted the worship of Aten. His tomb, discovered in 1922 by Howard Carter, contained stunning artifacts, including a famous golden mask, offering insights into ancient Egypt. Although Tutankhamen’s reign was brief and he died at 19, his posthumous fame stems largely from the treasures in his tomb.
